But firing torpedoes is hardly the same as tracking Janeway with a hand weapon while shes shoulder rolling, leaping above their eye-level and then elbowing these portly buggers in the ear up to her armpit.

This episode alone is enough reason to decommission the Doctor and ask for someone to fricking get off their ass and get a medical degree because these AI just can't be trusted in a wired situation where effective and balanced cognitive decisions have to take place rationally.
But how difficult was it to just do what Janeway told him to?
Tell Tuvok and rescue her (or retrieve her blasted and dumped corpse from space).
