hoverbike coming

Hardly the hoverbike from STAR WARS, but it might become a popular sport for people with the disposable income. I can't imagine it ever becoming street legal, at least not in this current form.

I've heard plenty of stories about accidents on existing bikes, some of them real Darwin Award winners, like a long scarf getting caught in the works. How long before the first hoverbike victim falls through one of the fans on his own bike?

Well, it's not intended to be a comfortable commuter vehicle. It's an off road toy for people with a lot of money. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

When they develop hoverbikes like this, I'll buy one:

^ Yes, jetmobiles should be the true goal. Though they probably have a little nuclear reactor in them.

Seems to me that it would handle somewhat like a jetski on the water. Probably super fun out on open ground, but a fun hair-raising suicide machine on roads.

I would not pay $ 85,000 for that.

Heck, I wouldn't shell out $ 8,500 for it.

I think I'll wait for the "next generation" of the Terrafugia.

The "1st" generation still needed a runway.

I really hope that comes out! the VTOL makes so much sense. But, you'll definitely pay more than $85,000 for one when it ships.

At least the TF-X actually looks more of a car than the first one, which is just a small roadable plane.

I still prefer the Moller Skycar, although that's looking to never be practical :(
