We're seeing some pretty good streaks in sports in the last few weeks. Houston has 21 straight wins, working on 22, and the Sharks have an 11 game winning streak in Hockey working on 12 tonight against the Oilers. Which streak ends first and when?

I'd say the Rockets. Though I'm not well-versed in either sport like I used to be, Houston has a tougher hill to climb in the NBA's Western Conference and it's more probable that they'll drop a game sooner than San Jose, particularly when they're at the moment playing against the Lakers.

Damn!

It looked like the Lakers were going to make a game of it in the 4th, but no such luck.

Amazingly, with Gasol and Bynum out, Houston did not go deep. They went small and shot the lights out.

Hats off the Rockets. They are on fire.

I actually said the Sharks will lose the streak first. I hope it doesn't happen, but they play Anahiem this week and that always worries me. Still, both streaks are crazy.

Just to go off topic, then there is Tiger Woods. I don't think that streak is ever going to end with that putt today.

I believe that the Houston streak will end first as there next game is against Boston and the Sharks get the tired Oilers tonight and the sad sack Kings for their next game. Sharks streak only ends if the game gets to overtime against the Oilers as they are deadly in that part of the game.

Probably Houston's will end first. They've been doing it a lot longer, so with even competition, I'd bet against the team with the longer streak. Eleven game streaks are nice, but the 22 has only been done once before in league history and they've done it without one of their best two players.

I'm definitely picking the Sharks to lose their streak despite my logic, however.

And the Sharks lost. That was a hell of a streak but Roloson was absolutely amazing in net. If there are any Oiler fans here, I have a question. What has been going on with him this season? I got the inference from watching the game and listening on Radio that he was kind of the back up goalie this year and he hasn't played much. To that I ask why not. He was outstanding in the postseason series against the Sharks, and I think tonight he showed how awesome of a Goalie he is in this league. Hell, I'd probably say he's the most underrated goalie in the NHL. Like I said, hell of a game and good win for Edmonton.

Now, we have to see which MLS team can pull off a streak of their own in 2008!

It would be ironic if it was either the Earthquakes or Dynamo, though.
