House Season 6 Promo on YouTube

After being committed (even willingly) I highly doubt he would still have his license to practice medicine, so getting him out that quickly kind of defeats the purpose of including it in the plot. Besides. . . how much fun will it be to watch him being snarky to the mentally ill? That right there is TV at its finest.

If a MD ends up in a asylum when they get out can they just carry on practicing medicine or do they have to get the ok from who ever in the US looks after medical licenses

I presume they'd have to get cleared from AMA, but it's not like House has been totaly accurate with the way medicine works as it is. In all "reality" House wouldn't be able to practice medicine at all because his mal-practice premiums would be through the roof and probably couldn't even get covered.

In House tradition I suspect that House will be out of the asylum with 3-4 episodes and we'll back to the status quo/POTW stuff.

Will still be fun seeing him in the asylum though.

I wonder if the new Doclings will be in the opening credits this year? Consideing Cameron and Chase are glorified extras at this point at Thirteen and Taub all pretty fuch full-use fellows.

I thought I read somewhere he will be in the mental place for like 7-10 episodes. However I'm guessing 3-4 episodes (and the premiere is two episodes).

As an odd aside, there was a doctor named Lawrence Kutner(or something very very similar) on an episode of Bullshit this season. I rewound it twice to check and sure enough. . . made me wonder if one of the writers knew this guy.

So he'll be in the asylum for like what, one maybe two episodes.

I predicted this when last season ended. It's simply not the same show without him in the hospital running things. He can't abuse everyone around him, plus how are they going to solve all those cases, call his room and ask for a consult?

70% of the show would be gone with him out of the hospital and without him to interact with I don't think his team could carry the show.

Don't let that fool you though, I'm SO pumped for this to return.

It's brightened my day seeing this.

Hopefully while he's in the asylum he'll put Lucas back on retainer to spy on everyone back at the hospital. I doubt it, but I would really like to see that guy back again. He just vanished after Wilson came back which I thought was a real shame. With Kutner gone there's an 'also starring' slot free for another regular.

He vanished because his planned spinoff was canceled, but that would be awesome if he came back.

Elbow! "Grounds for Divorce"! Any day I hear Elbow is a good day. :)

(And Hugh Laurie's House looks a bit like Elbow's Guy Garvey.)

It looks amusing, but I'm not a fan of returning to the same old shit. They really need to change something permanently and make a lasting arc out of his character. Another season of POTW and I'll probably just tune out...

See, I WANT the POTW stuff. That's what pulled me into show and got me to fall in love with the character -House's "process of solving his medical mysteries."

I want more of that and, frankly, less of this angsty character arc nonsense that's bogged the show down the last couple of seasons.

This was what my son & I felt at the end of last season. Give him some time in the facility. However, as you've pointed out I have to wonder in what capacity he'd be back at the hospital?
