Hot Supernatural season 5 news! Spoilers!!!

The CW wants a season 6, and the writer of the show says he's open to a season 6, so without a doubt there will be a season 6.

Well then I hope people are happy when both brothers get "love interests" because there's nothing left to do. Kripke's trying not to throw ice water and to be professional. He's not staying. The CW will try to tie him in for 2 more seasons if it gets renewed for a 7th. The new show runner may totally suck up to the network.

At any rate, I'll enjoy the whole of season five and ignore the rest. Thank heavens the J's are only contractually obligated for 6. They won't sign on for 9 like Welling and company. Here's the info on Paris' appearance from Mo Ryan in the Chicago Tribune. It sounds funny as hell (definitely penned by Ben Edlund) but I agree with Kripke. I can't believe Paris agreed to do it.

spoilery

Gee, I hope she didn't hear how much Jensen made fun of her during his Chelsea Lately interview. Could make for a tense set.

I really hope they dont drag Supernatural out like they are doing Smallville, I hope the cast, the producer & the CW see the downside of that, well 2 out of 3 might see it.

They won't drag it out like Smallville. Kripke's contract is up this season and the two J's are up after season 6 if there is one. They won't re-sign. At most, SPN will last six seasons.....unless the network is crazy enough to pull a Coy and Vance Duke scenario and bring in the long lost cousins to fight ghosts. :guffaw: Since the Winchesters have no cousins that probably won't come to pass. I'm still hoping for only 5. I am glad to read that Kripke&co are going to write this arc as originally planned and end it this season. No dragging it out for 2 seasons to fill the gap. They'll figure out what to do with a season 6 if they get one but they aren't going to dilute this season's arc because of it. That's good news IMO. The emotional impact won't be compromised. My guess is they'll go back to monsters of the week for the final season if they get one. It'll probably be anticlimactic, but what can you do? The two J's signed for 6 seasons.

Who knows why? That's just the way it is. I wish J&J were only signed for 5, but que sera sera. Actors and exec producers are treated differently. I doubt any of them dreamed that the show would last this long or become successful. The CW knows that it's got nothing after. The Vampire Diaries is getting made fun of but good in the press. The CW has added plenty of teen angst to the formula.

Yeah, it's true. I acknowledged that I was mistaken upthread. I put in a link to Mo Ryan's column in the Chicago Tribune. It spoils the episode a little. Sounds intentionally hilarious in a Ben Edlund sort of way. Paris must be a hell of a good sport.
