If you consider any of these to be anything even approaching porn, then I'm afraid you lived a very sheltered life.

1991 Pit and the pendulum

My girlfriend at the time had been lent it and we offered to watch it with my mum and dad not realising how graphic it was.

It may not even have been that bad but it felt it at the time as I'm there thinking wtf have you brought to watch.

Ahem. naked soapy girls showering together. in Prom Night 2 and Mirror, Mirror. Thats pretty much soft core porn horror movies in my opinion

also Amityville 2 and Children of the Corn II a little bit

Titillating? Sure. Soft core porno? Nah.

That'd be like calling Porky's a soft core porn when it's just a lewd comedy.

dunno about that. all i remember about Psycho IIi when it was on HBO back in the late 1980s, is that Jeff Fahey was naked and quite hairy.

Even movies like Destroyer and Edge of Sanity that Anthony Perkins was in, those movies were a bit soft core pornish especially Edge of Sanity since it was on Cinemax and TMC alot.

Psycho III has more tits in it than a Tory conference.

I watched "Embrace of the Vampire" years ago and was surprised it aired so freely on late-night TV, it was basically soft-core.

Stuff like that sometimes crosses into what you'd expect from phim hentai, just with a darker twist and blood thrown in.

I remember the early '90s having a ton of these movies that blurred the genre lines way more than they probably should’ve.

The fake adult movie in THE HOWLING might qualify. It threw me for a loop at the time.

At first I thought you might be conflating your memory of The Howling with your memory of An American Werewolf in London, but it appears both films were released in 1981, both are about werewolves and both feature scenes in pornographic movie theatres.

Does having a pornographic movie in a movie make the movie itself pornographic?

I don't think so, but I can see how others might disagree.

I don't think the obligitory nudity in horror movies makes them soft core porn. Even the more explicit exploitation movies of the 1970s aren't really porn, well maybe I Spit on Your Grave is with its 40 minute long gang rape scene. Personally the scene made me feel sick which I'm pretty sure was the film makers intention but there are probably fans of violent pornography who will be aroused by that movie and for them it is porn.
