Hope For Haiti Now

It seems very wise, since Haiti's government is borderline nonexistent, and was a wreck before it was wrecked. Much better that the money go to competent providers.

I am relieved that such is the case. I figured George and his associates had good heads on their shoulders.

Also when national governments say they are giving X to the a disaster relief they don't always mean it as cold hard cash/supplies/services but it can also be in forms of lines of credit or debt moritorium,

The US government also has a fairly large military force in place, operating a naval vessel is very expensive and there are several down there. This is on top of the cost of aid.

Obama seems inclined to completely rebuild Haiti, of course regardless of the cost, I wonder if the government will be basically replaced, we did this before back in the nineties, show the current president to the door.

People make comments about the cost of the haivng say the U.S Navy down there but if the ship is on duty, she's already at sea, crew getting duty pay etc etc so why should the costs be much different?

I can understand for the airlift because they would be doing more work increase fuel and maintanence demands but at the same time you've it gives the crews flight hours and training.
