Honorverse Starships

~cough, cough, hack~

Sorry I neglected this thread guys! Thanks for all your kind words. For those curious the 'cat painting was done in completely with Photoshop and a Wacom tablet.

At some point I should try to learn painter but sometimes it's just too easy to go with what you know.

Anyway, more art!:

Old Thread Bump:

I know it's been forever, but I just started a reread of the Honor Harrington Series in preperation for the new books to be released this year and it got me thinking about this thread again.

If ThomastheCat is still around and willing, I'd love to see more of anything Honor-Related he might have on his Hard Drive.

Also, What is all this information used for?

The info in this thread was incorporated into a technical manual like publication about the fictional Manticoran Royal Star Navy. There was a ton more illustrations and explanations of the tech found in the honorverse.

As bigguy said, this info was released in a couple of books called the Jaynes Intelligence Review. There are two so far, one featuring the Royal Manticoran Navy and the other all about the Havenites, covering tech, gear, and star ships up until the beginning of the first Havenite/Manticoran war.

I avoided mentioning them too blatantly to avoid offending the board's solicitation rules, but since you asked:

Jaynes 1: Royal Manticoran Navy

and

Jaynes 2: People's Republic Navy

There are a few more Jaynes books planned. The next will be all about the Silesian Confederacy. After that we are looking to do a combined Jaynes about Grayson and Masada, and the fifth (hopefully) will be about the Andermani Navy and Marines.

Regarding other HH artwork I can post here, I am at work right now but I will see what I can do tonight or tomorrow.

Oh cool.

Well Thank you very much.

Question: When you say "up to the beginning of the Havenite/Manticoran War" which books are you reffering too?

Would there be information about Harrington Class SDPs in the Grayson book, or would future books also maintain an "up to the beginning of the Havenite/Manticoran War" limitation?

Thanks again.

I'm interested in these, but if future books don't cover the new tech advances, like Keyhole, etc. are there plans to revisit the Manticoran Intelligence Guide with a "Part 2" or "Tech Update" Edition?

You are quite welcome!

These books are dated to 1905 p.d., which is right around the third book in the series, Short Victorious War. So we're still dealing with regular dreadnoughts and superdreadnoughts at this point.

Well, the Silesian book is going forward about a year in time, and the Grayson book might cover up until 1906-1907ish. It'll have the first ships constructed after the tech exchange between Manticore and Grayson, which were in the cruiser range I think.

Our production schedule is very hazy after the Andermani book, but that is the general plan, yes.

Anyway, a couple more pieces:

Also, I forgot to mention that Storm from the Shadows will have some of my art in supplemental materials!
