Holy malware and adware batman!

Holy crap! I had been using Quest DSL in my previous house, now that I've moved I switched to Cox internet. While it's fast I've been inundated with loads of malware and adware. Yahool toolbars are attacking my PC which I have XP, when I search for something in google it kicks up a few different search engines.

I never had this problem with Quest but now that I'm with COX its' like my PC is a swiffer duster picking up every bit of malware and adware out there... WFT?!

I've been running cleaning programs overtime with little results... DAMN!

This may be a reason to switch to a MAC... but I like PC!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! :scream:

It's driving me crazy!!!:scream:

Malwarebytes doesn't get rid of some stuff for me. I'm using something else at home but I can't remember what. There are just too many malware remover programs I really don't know which ones are the best. I hate Adaware though. Why is it so friggin huge?

All of the above is free or a free edition is available.

Try googling the virusname and look for a solution there. Some viruses need some manual kick in the butt. Which sometimes involves messing with your registry etc, so it is at your own risk. But you got infected, so I guess you know about risks! :p.

Good luck. I think I killed mine, but the computer has been running slower so I'm not sure.

It is the devil in PC form.

Microsoft Security Essentials

All programs are free, and that should just about cover you completely.

And if you can afford it I suggest a good antivirus /firewall! I use Kaspersky. :)

Windows XP and Windows 7 firewall is very efficient and secure.
As for antivirus, I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials, or AntiVir (www.free-av.com)

Both are free, light on resources, and very good.

AVG isn't up to snuff like it used to be.
For your malware, bigdaddy, download Microsoft Security Essentials. It does very well.
