Holodeck as dramatic writing aid.

We've mused on the value of the holodeck as a training aid, and as entertainment, but as I sit here trying to plot a creative writing project, this thought crossed my mind:

An author devises a plot, comes up with the primary characters and setting, and feeds them into the holodeck. Then he tells the computer to run with it, and sits back and watches. I wouldn't advocate letting a computer write 100% of your story for you - aside from being lazy, you'd probably have to share credit - but it might be able to suggest new directions for the plot or for characters that you hadn't though of.

Or are these just frustrated ravings brought on by writer's block?
