[FONT=Calibri]Fred Archer (1915-1999) wrote several books about life in rural Britain, relating tales and histories from 1750 until his time. In one of his books, The Tibblestone Hundred: Journey through an English Village (Oxford, UK: Sutton Publishing Ltd., 1996), he writes:[/FONT]
[FONT=Calibri]“…[T]here must be change and there must be progress,” but the former times and their lifestyles each “had a quality all of its own” (p.181).[/FONT]
Although the new ways are better, it is fascinating to learn the details of life back then.
 
You might also want to have some actual content, like a question of some kind to spur discussion. If you just want to make random statements, you'd be better off getting yourself a blog.
