Just that the episode kicks ass. The first season sucked in alot of ways. We were stuck with Wesley and all sorts of awful dialogue. It was nice to have such an action packed one. I really like when Riker is kicking the old man's head repeatedly.
Those creatures were pretty crap though.
Hey, those creatures sucked, but so did the Gorn way back on TOS and it was fucking great! Picard also dodges a phaser after it has already fired-displaying just how amazingly fast he is. There is no defense against the Picard manuever! Riker eats those worms(supposedly for real, but they cut it out). Wesley doesn't save the ship and that is so good too. Worf gets tossed over a table, but he does double fist hit the old man in the head. You gotta love that.
I like everything about the episode, except for the creatures.
Certainly one of the best scenes of a human explosion since Monty Python's The Meaning of Life!
Personally, though, I kind of liked the aliens. They were actually different and alien enough looking. It kind of reminded me in concept of the aliens from Catspaw in their true form. I liked how they were described as a superior life form.

I loved this episode of The Next Generation. It freaked me out just a little, especially when I started to feel something crawling on my arm...

I remember liking that episode when I first saw it. The creatures themselves looked corny now that I think about it, but I remember liking the plot. And for some reason that episode reminded me of the X-Files. Maybe it was the open ending or the conspiracy angle or something. 
I first saw this episode when I had already seen most of TNG. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the exploding head, it's one of those things I thought I'd never see on Trek.
I thought it was gross. But I loved it. I thought it was one of the best episodes in season 1...and there's not many that fit that category.
