Hilarious ST Mention on The Colbert Report

Stephen Colbert was talking on his show about the fact that there is a writer who has sold three books, where in each one he claims he is talking directly to God. One of the quotes from these books said something to the effect of:

"God installed in Jesus a set of prime morals. This is not unlike the 'prime directive' followed by Kirk, Picard, and Janeway."

In trying to decide whether or not God actually said this, Stephen believed he had.

Why?

Because, in his words:

'Only God can love Star Trek Voyager.'

:rommie::rommie::rommie:

That really cracked me up.

Yeah, I laughed at that part. When Colbert first read the quote I shouted "They chose Janeway over Sisko?!", but that Voyager joke rectified the situation quite nicely. :p

Yes, calling Colbert a right-wing pundit kind of gives the wrong impression about what he actually does...

Yeah, I would say he is more a centrists (with leftist leanings) than a flat out conservative. Anyways, 2 of 10 if you ever get the chance to check out his show then you should. Its the best news show on TV ;)

You mean it's all a joke? :wtf:
He's just playing a character who is a parody of guys like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly.

He has also said multiple times that he does not let his kids watch the show, mostly because they are too young to understand that it's not really him. Plus, they are like 4 or 5.

I know that, I've been watching Colbert since he was on The Daily Show. I was just trying to see if somebody who hasn't heard of Colbert would think he was serious when viewing him for the first time.

If you didn't know any better, you could take him seriously because part of his humor is that HE takes himself so seriously.

I know a guy who insists that he is not playing a character. This is just one of many things wrong with this guy.

The most hilarious stuff is when someone doesn't really know he's a parody, and either allows themselves to be booked on the show, or worse, invites him to speak somewhere.

I'm convinced that the latter is what happened with the Correspondence Dinner. :guffaw:

LOL. I guess he never reads interviews with Colbert off the show...
