Hi there! I'm new here...

Lucy of Nine

Commander
Red Shirt
Hey Guys!

Just wanted to say hi...
I'm a 29 year old Aussie girl, who grew up with ST:TNG, DS9 and Voyager... and although I love them all, I think Voyager has been my favourite, hence why I popped up in this forum...
I watched the series growing up but for some reason, drifted away and never saw half of season 6 and 7... I recently bought the whole series and sat down to finish what I started years ago... I got through season 6 and 7 in about 2 weeks, and just watched Endgame last night... made me remember how much I love ST and so thought I would find a place on the net to visit and ask questions... LOL...
Such as... why when Neelix left to stay on the asteroid (ahh what a lovely place to call home... inside a giant rock with a flimsy forcefield awaiting the miners to come back and blow the crap out of you eventually), they told the kid (Brax?) that Talaxia was being occupied... when I thought it had been destroyed by that giant shockwave thingy... lol. One of my many questions...
Anyway, hope to meet some new friends here and share the ST love... lol

Lucy

Hi! I'd like to officially welcome you to the Voyager forum!!!! Pull up your Captain's chair and half about fifteen cups of coffee..or however many you have. :D I'm happy a new fellow fan is around and am happy to share any favorite Voyager memories with you. I grew up watching the series also. I watched it from the beginning(I was about 14 at the time it aired). At first, didn't know if I was gonna get into it or not..but after the second or third episode, I was HOOKED! Do you have any favorite characters? Mine is the Commander. Even though his character wasn't used to the full potential I thought it could have been, I really liked his spirituality and he was/is a damn fine looking man. I just wanna put him in a bubble bath and spank his bottom! :guffaw:!!!!!! Anyway...ahem..but he was the first face I saw when Caretaker first aired and I was like: who is that handsome hunk?! WOW! :D

Welcome to the forum. :) TOS is my sentimental favorite; and VOY is my favorite modern Trek, too. Nice to see you.

Hi there! And welcome to the Voyager part of the forum!

they told the kid (Brax?) that Talaxia was being occupied... when I thought it had been destroyed by that giant shockwave thingy... lol. One of my many questions...
It was a colony of Talaxia's moon that had been affected by that shockwave. :vulcan:

Lol, I think he is a spunk too. I have to say that I do have a soft spot for Kathryn. It was lovely to finally see a woman in charge... LOL. I was always a huge Picard fan though, and a Sisko fan... so maybe I have a thing for power?!?
I did love Seven, and B'Elanna and Tom! Infact I probably love them all.. yes, including Neelix. And especially the Doctor! Although I never felt anything for Kes... sorry! :)
I was sad that the last episode wasnt as good as it should have been.... so many loose ends never tied up. I would have loved to see some things happen in Voyager that never happened but were always hinted at. Like Harry getting promoted (and not just in the future that Admiral Janeway was from)... and Seven and Chakotay really getting together (it seemed so rushed and so shallow lol). I guess I would have loved the final series to start wrapping up about 6 episodes before the end. Not just in the last 2. I was mortified in the 3rd last ep to find it was just another Dr/Janeway episode. I thought they would have started setting it up to end it... but alas no.
Anyway I am glad that I finally found this place - it only about 7 years overdue!
I am about to start watching the whole series from the beginning again... although how will I ever cope with Kathryn's bad hair style ? LOL...

Welcome to the Forum Lucy!!

I share your views about "Homestead" also, at least we got to see Tuvok do a little dance : )

LOL! Yeah, Janeway's hairstyle was kinda odd in the first season. I sorta thought she looked like a librarian and her hair was so tight that it was making her cranky. :D
As for C/7, I couldn't agree with you more..but rushed and shallow are not the only two words for it I have come up with..MEANINGLESS and POINTLESS come to my mind. I mean, he didn't even like her in the beginning! But I remember the producers saying that they would pair up sexy with another sexy..and I guess that meant those two. :D:D
I would have also liked to have seen a wrap up of three episodes..maybe having a three parter or something? That would have been interesting. And then the Captain and Commander finding each other in the end would have been wonderful. But that's what fanfiction is for right?
I'm alot like you..I liked everyone..but if I had to pick, I'd pick the Commander..he's yummy!

At least we don't question Seven's good taste. :adore:

Seven supposedly chose Chakotay as an alpha male. But they're just not each other's type. All right, that happens, when there is chemistry, but... nope. No chemistry either. We're as dumbstruck as Janeway when Admiral Janeway breaks the news to her.
And using a holographic Chakotay?

Bad girl. How can she reconcile the hologram with the real thing? No, wait... Beltran did secretly get out of his contract by using a holographic stand-in powered by a 29th-century holographic mobile emitter that had been stranded in the 20th century. :D

LOL!
Was the general consensus around here that Janeway should have ended up with Chakotay?
It would have been much nicer for fans if her boyf from unimatrix one somehow appeared near the end and they hooked up... Axim, Axum? My bad...

beginning! But I remember the producers saying that they would pair up sexy with another sexy..and I guess that meant those two. :D:D

Following that logic it should have been Harry since Garrett Wang was the one who made it into that sexiest people poll that saved his job.

Regardless on-screen chemistry is a help and there was none there. As for J/C they had tons of chemistry but tptb didn't feel it would be appropriate for the captain to have a relationship with a member of the crew. Still, there remains the fanfiction. :D

Yeah, you're right. :D It's Chakotay.. He makes my toes curl! :guffaw:
BTW: have you actually met Kate???? If you have then WOW! And yes, I think you're right..it was a convention. :D I miss the show so very much. It got me through alot of tough times in High School. :)

No, I haven`t met Kate, but I met Robert Beltran!!
Kate`s "Sexy meets sexy" I`ve read at Kate`s fanpage "Totally Kate" in a convention report.

Well, how to describe it. My English isn`t that good, so I can`t write it in that way I would like to.

I met Robert Beltran 2 years ago at German Fedcon. Meeting him is a gift. He`s a very impressive person. He has a great charisma(?).
First: he`s very good looking. People who met him before told me that he`s much more good looking than on screen or at pictures. It`s true.
Second: He`s very entertaining. During his panels we couldn`t stop laughing.
He`s very funny and he`s intelligent.
Third: He was very nice to the fans (nothing like- I hate Star Trek or fans).

During the autograph session I got the chance to speak with him (only some words) and he smiled at me. (great)

I hope you can understand what I wrote.

If you want to get a little impression of him watch that video from London Expo. London Expo took place 7 days after Fedcon. But it`s only a little impression (look at my first point)
