Heroes will not DIEEEEEE!!!

:rommie:

This cracks me up. Go away, show!

Oh what the frak. Maybe Kring will do a better job with a miniseries, a premise well suited to a miniseries length, and no motivation to try to streeeetch things out.

Should the axed series return with a wrap-up miniseries—that's creator Tim Kring's hope, and he says he's meeting with NBC this month to discuss it — the plot will skip ahead a year or so to see the effect of Claire's revelation.

"There will be a huge cultural and social change in the world," says Kring. "Some [of our characters] will be hiding, some struggling, some basking in the glory."

[Spoilers, in case anyone cares...]

Claire, who desperately wanted a normal life, will become a reluctant spokesperson for the abnormals. Sylar (Zachary Quinto) will again struggle with his dark side. And Adrian Pasdar will likely return, though not as Nathan, who died.

Oh, they can shove it. They had three years to carry on the momentum of their first season and failed abysmally. The show's done. Deal with it.

At this point I just don't care anymore, so why not, go ahead, do something crazy, over the top, kill everyone off, whatever... as long as it isn't as boring as the last couple of seasons.
I'll probably watch it, just for old times sake.

I hope they get to do it. The show is more suited to the mini-series format anyway. Maybe FlashForward could get the same deal. Actually, there are a few shows that I'd like to see take this approach.

Ugh.

As long as Kring is associated with it, I'll be skipping it. Fuck him and his inability to move beyond the premise.

I'm sorry, but Kring sounds like a 'you-know-what' from the Star Trek: TOS era...

Ah, dear Kirk, we will meet in battle...! And I assure you, I will be a worthy opponent.

In regards to Heroes: Once my scredule clears up, I may rent the 1 season just to see what it's about.

I hear Andromeda had a good 1st season, too....and I may have to check that out someday...

What was Claire's revellation? (I gave up on the show long ago).

She outed herself in the middle of Central Park on camera by leaping off a ferris wheel, standing up unscathed, and then giving a speech about other supers.

I can't imagine a worse spokesman for the super community though. She'll change her mind fifteen times before each press conference is done.

As far as the miniseries goes, the only thing that will make me interested is if they finally have the fully-powered Peter vs. Sylar fight they dicked us around on for four seasons. No fist-fights, no fucking closing doors, no Hiro screaming and running in slo-mo with a samurai sword that Mr. bullet-stopping Sylar suddenly can't avoid. I want balls-to-the wall flying around New York with buildings being destroyed. I want ice powers and flames and Sylar's eyebrows vs Peter's emo hair. I want Sylar throwing cars at Peter.

I basically want the Superman II fight with modern FX and no fear of a high bodycount. There's no reason Pete can't steal Sylar's intuitive aptitude and collect a shitload of powers in the yearlong gap.

No more heroes watching the two of them fight with stupid looks on their faces, ie Ali Larter.

It's amazing that they failed to deliver a good fight in the Season 1 finale when they actually had a big budget for the show.

Claire wanted a normal life so she thought the best thing to do was out herself? Typical moron move on her part and selfish as well. She didn't seem to care that outing herself would put a ton of people under the microscope.

As for it changing society, they decide at the very end to finally do this?

I hope they get to do this, I want a proper wrap up to the series. I hate it when a series gets canceled and doesn't' get a chance to wrap it up and properly end it. So I'm looking forward to this and hope it comes true.

I don't have the hate for Heroes that a lot of people here do apparently, I quite liked the show, sure there are some things I didn't like, but as a whole, it is a very entertaining series.

S1 is awesome. And unless you find you really love the characters and will watch them regardless of how bad the writing gets, stop there.

A smart show would recognize that a beautiful young woman, who projects innocence and sincerity if not smarts, could be a great spokesmodel for the metahumans ("great" meaning, good for storytelling, not good for the metahumans), and would make hay out of the way she'll be promoted and puffed up as an instant media star, making fun of her vapidity, while acknowledging that she's no more vapid, say, than Kim Kardashian or Lady Gaga and genuinely more interesting.

If they finally do that, I will forgive them for everything, well, maybe more like 30-40% of everything. :rommie:

I want Sylar throwing cars at Peter.
I want him to throw the Chrysler Building at Peter! :p

The story sequence they had mapped out were fine, with "changing society" saved for S5. I'd loved to have seen a good implementation of the history of the metas (Generations), delving into the waffly boundaries of good and evil (Villians), metas on the run (Fugitives), and then everyone trying to make amends for their bad/unwise behavior and forgive each other (Redemption), leading into the public revelation as the last season or two of the series. If this had been written well, it could have been great.

If Pasdar comes back I might watch but I want him to play a compelety different character even if its a clone or something. I dont want him hanging around in Sylar's body. They already did that & totally ruined it.

Because the joke isn't quite dead yet:

It turns out the entire universe is limbo and they are all dead. Their powers are just manifestations of the powers they wish they had when they were alive and when they can let go, they get to go to to Heroes heaven with Hiro's mom.

In the immortal words of Bruce Campbell,"It's a trick. Get an Axe."

Everybody will be tricked into watching the same old crap again and then be kicking themselves that they fell for the same trick. Again.
