Thoughts? Who would he play if they were casting for a Kelvinverse counterpart to a TOS character?

 

I heard he's gonna be Riker in the reboot TNG movie. In reality? It's Giant Freakin' Robot, so it's made up. And the TNG thing was fan art that got shared around.

He'd be great as a Trek movie baddie. Seeing him and Chris Pine fight would be fun.

Honestly I hope not. Ever since he said the me too movement made it harder to flirt I haven't liked him. If he does I hope it's a villain role, not, like the article said, replacing Urban who was great.

Okay, but suppose they really are thinking of him, or the article, among other things, makes them consider him.

So how would Kirk and Mitchell have met this time? TOS has him as Kirk's student at the academy.

Perhaps during Kirk's convalescence from radiation poisoning? They could be fellow patients in the psych ward: Kirk being monitored for Khan blood side effects/PTSD and getting counselling, Mitchell for his Esper powers.

 

They're old buddies from Iowa. Gary joined up at 18. Kind of resents that Jim was fast tracked to Captain.

 

So maybe the script is flipped, with Mitchell as Jim's peer mentor?

In the Kelvinverse, Gary was born and raised in a radioactive gym.

 

Missed that movie.

 

They did an IDW comic with him, I think, but tie-ins have been retconned away before.
