okay I've now gone 100% digital on comics and have begun hellboy. I picked up seeds of destruction and found it and awesome read. I was wondering where do I start reading the B.R.P.D?

Well, the first tpb of the BPRD is called "Hollow Earth and other stories". It's a collection of short stories (the longer stories start with the third tpb "Plague of Frogs"), but some of them get important later on.
I should also mention that all of the BPRD series takes places after the sixth Hellboy tpb "Conqueror Worm" and if you read BPRD before that you'll get spoiled about quite an important plot point. But once you're past that point the two series don't really cross over, only a few small things (for now).

very cool thanks. now abe seems to have his own series now, do you happen to know anything about that one.

Contrary to many superhero comics, neither Hellboy, BPRD,... have an ongoing series. They are published in one-shots and miniseries. So Abe Sapien doesn't really have his own series, but there were/are comics centred on him. I've only read two: "The Drowning" which is pretty stand-alone as I recall and "Drums of the Dead" which is part of the first BPRD collection.

  1. Hellboy: seed of destruction
  2. Hellboy: wake the Devil
  3. Hellboy: The Chained Coffin and others
  4. Hellboy: The Right Hand of Doom
  5. Hellboy: Conqueror Worm
  6. Hellboy: Strange Places
  7. Hellboy: The Troll Witch and others
  8. Hellboy: Darkness Calls
  9. Hellboy: The Wild Hunt
  10. Hellboy: The Crooked Man and others
  11. Hellboy: The Bride of Hell and others
  12. Hellboy: The Storm and The Fury is ready for preorder
are all now on the Nook color.

I've read the first ten volumes of Hellboy... and I'm considering stopping. The past few haven't grabbed my attention. So, it's hard to get excited about the next ones.

It does get less exciting when Mignolia stops doing the artwork. But the story climax in "Storm & Fury" was pretty cool.

I don't know how anyone could consider the Storm and Fury to be borrowing. Those plus the Wild Hunt are the best Hellboy stories written by Mignola.
