Hawkman? Ummm...

So, I read they will be doing a JSA episode on Smallville (good, because JSA has been DC's best magazine for years now. Geoff Johns is god..)

Now, I havent watched Smallville for years, I just grew tired of it. And I recently watched it and, well, wasn't impressed.

Now Hawkman? Hawkman has, probably, the best costume of any superhero. Its just so, well, cool looking. The only live-version we have seen of it was that dreadful variety show they did in the 70s....

Smallville seems to be a show done with 'budget' constraints. How do you think they will pull Hawkman off, most importantly, those wings of his?? Will they do it without the wings, and pin his flying on the anti-gravity belt?? Or will they CGI the wings?

HOW..are they..going to do this...

Rob

CGI the wings, and have them retract onto a backpack thing he has on his back. Also, have the outfit resemble his Hawkworld Military Officer uniform.

What I don't get is why Michael Shanks. In the spoilers/rumors for the episode, the JSA were described as being heroes from a generation past who are checking up on Clark, Ollie, etc.

Michael Shanks isn't exactly from the 40's or 50's. How they'll explain his Carter or Katar still being young will be interesting.

Maybe some sort of "realistic" paragliding outfit . . . ?

umm...like the recent Flash Gordon series? Will we also get squaking as well?

Hmm....Condorman...could they do a sequel for SyFy channel? Or heck, even just show it one night or weekend?

Well, according to the SMALLVILLE timeline, "a generation past" could be the Seventies or Eighties.

The 40's business only applies to the comics.

Given how fast and loose this show plays with comic continuity, or how the comics treated *Hawkman's* continuity, they could literally have any costume they wanted for their version of Hawkman. Hell, I'm surprised he's still Carter Hall...

According to our "timeline," a generation is 25-35 years. The 1940's is two or three generations past.

But we don't know if WWII happened the same for the Smallville people.

Hells they have imaginary wars all the time.

That blonde kid got killed in one of them before he shipped off to Mongo.

Not really. By the end of season 1 when he left the US was in Afghanistan.

I guess they were sneaking in from around behind to attack Afghanistan from Indonesia?

Whitney died in Indonesia.

For all we know that war is still happening, because we don't even know if they have different presidents who lie to their constituents when they want to begin unjust wars for no good or godly reason.

If the US was ever in a conflict which exacerbated because by some world leader thinking that there were or were not weapons of massdestruction being hidden about somewhere in the middle of a million square kilometers of desert... Clark punked out on the world.
