Now there's a mashup that I too wasn't expecting. Just imagine that upcoming C3P0 singing doll. Pull the cord or flick the switch and it belches out something from NWA. The saddest part is, I spent 15 minutes looking for suitable song lyrics to quote and - golly gee whiz - there are none that are safe to post.
eOne handles the release of a lot of movies and television on home media here in Canada. The article doesn't really touch on that part of the business, but I assume that will remain unchanged?
Although there are similarities, I don't think they're actually the same. eOne Universal I believe The fanfare that eOne uses now is actually one that used to be used by Alliance Atlantis; eOne started using it in 2013, the same year they acquired Alliance Films. Alliance Atlantis Just in case you're curious, here's the fanfare eOne used to use prior to the change in 2013.
There is at least somewhat of a preexisting relationship between the two; eOne handled Canadian distribution for the 2017 Power Rangers movie (Hasbro acquired Power Rangers from Saban in 2019), and the recent My Little Pony movie. I wonder if this means Hasbro would try to claw the toy licenses for eOne properties like Peppa Pig and PJ Masks away from the current holders?
That makes sense. I knew it sounded familiar from somewhere, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Of course now I see the Alliance Atlantis logo and a palm goes to my forehead.
