I don't know if Hallmark is over in the UK, or perhaps something similar, but to me a TARDIS ornament like the ones they make for Star Trek would be a fantastic, obvious choice! You could have illumination inside to backlight the windows, and, of course, the blue light on top would flash on and off! Well, I'd sure buy it!
Oh, wow, what a good idea! I'd love one twinkling on my Christmas tree. I think it would take folks by surprise with a traditionally decorated tree and then a TARDIS hiding in the branches.
^ I have a remote controlled Dalek that sits in the corner of the lounge. You can make it move and say "Exterminate" without people noticing what you're doing until it starts moving and waving around its eyestalk. Used to scare the hell out of the cat!
Somebody's probably crocheted one. (I know people have knitted and crocheted them, but not afaik in Christmas tree size.) But obviously a commercial one would be awesome.
No. I hadn't thought of that. Unforunately the cat's no longer with us so it doesn't look like it's likely to happen, either.
^ Especially if it's like many of the more recent Hallmark ones that run on batteries, so you can use them year-round if you want instead of having to plug them into a string of lights at Christmas.
I have a very cute TARDIS that lights up when my mobile phone rings. One night in a hotel (I was at a con) someone in the next room must have got a phone call in the middle of the night and my TARDIS started .... TARDIS-ing. Frightened the hell out of me!
ex Toy maker Dapol made a Green, Red & Gold Dalek about ten years ago that was a Tree decoration Extremely rare these days There was a Gold K9 ornanment in 2000. And a Gold Ice Warrior (not so rare)
If there were one, I would probably have found it online before I found this group. However, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who wants. LOL A Dalek, Tardis, (maybe David Tennant), and if Hallmark REALLY wanted to make me a happy camper, they could produce a fiber optic black Christmas tree. I'd buy it for all my s.f. ornaments in a heartbeat so they could have their own star field. Sigh.
Well, if you're handy with a pair of scissors, theres always: http://www.ironcowprod.com/features/downloads/tardis_front.jpg or http://www.ironcowprod.com/features/downloads/ironcowprod_tardis.pdf
