Has CBC been doing any Series 4 promotion??

So with a couple weeks before CBC FINALLY starts Series 4 (it starts on the 19th right?), does anyone know if they've been doing any promotion of it on TV? They still don't have an official site for Series 4 -- it's main Doctor Who page is still the post-S3 site that directs us to "catch it again on Bold". And if you look hard enough, there is a basic S4 page, but it consists of a single paragraph that makes no mention of when it starts.

Now, I've already seen S4, but it was on YouTube and that's not really the best way to enjoy the show, so I'll definitely want to see it on actual television (at least until the DVDs arrive), and I don't doubt CBC will air it, but it would be nice to know that they're actually promoting the thing.

I've seen at least 2 adverts for it during today's Coronation Street omnibus, as well at the same time last week. Contains clips from everything up to the Sontaran story (as well as a brief clip from Voyage of the Damned).

Since we don't watch much else on that channel, I've no idea whether they're focussing on the British shows for promoting another British show, or whether it's being promoted all the time...

I've seen promos during The National (I think it was The National - that's about all I watch on CBC. It certainly wasn't Coronation Street, since I don't watch that at all).

Yeah, I've noticed a couple ads. And, as far as I know, they are no longer "co-producers". Can't recall the end credits for series four but I think the financial involvement is over.

I've also seen commercials for S4 on CBC. Sadly, I might actually have to resort to watching it on CBC, as my other means of watching it isn't coming through for me like they did with Torchwood.

I could mail them to you but the way Canada Post has been lately, at least in my town, CBC will air them before you'd get them. :D

Indeed, besides the season will be released on official DVD in November, so I could still get to see the whole season before CBC finishes it.

That's assuming, of course, its Canadian release isn't delayed like it was back with S2.

We get shafted for so much with DW. Where's the love for Canada? Without Sydney Newman there'd be no Doctor Who. I want current air dates and I want my damn classic figures now dammit!

:D

I just saw that CBC's Doctor Who site has now been updated with Series 4 decor! Only "problem" is, the first episode scheduled is "Partners in Crime" -- no mention at all of "Voyage of the Damned", unless they plan to air it midnight the same night like they did the previous season, though I think they would have mentioned that.

They'll also have full streaming episodes again (which came in handy last season and allowed me to watch "Blink" half a dozen times!), but I doubt I'll need the feature this time, as I've already seen the season and DVDs will be transmatting in a couple of months.

Can't say I'm surprised. Though this doesn't really bother me, I was able to watch Voyage of the Damned back in January through shady dealings. Still, it isn't really fair to people who watch the show the honest way, is it?

Though what I'm wondering, did someone catch on that it was a Christmas special, and have decided to not air it until December?

^ Maybe, but why couldn't they have used that logic last December when it was supposed to air? :D

I remember reading a post or a thread here last year when Voyage of the Damned aired that someone stated that the CBC had no plans to air the Christmas special and they were going straight into Partners in Crime which is a little disapointing for those who have been strictly waiting for the CBC broadcasts. I'll be re-watching all the episodes again on TV as this season was done exceptionally well and I am looking forward to watching on a TV screen!

I've seen it, and series 4. I don't like waiting for CBC but if they've decided not to air VotD, that's just pathetic on their part. Typical CBC.

^ Yeah. I would have watched VotD on YouTube along with the rest of the season this summer, but for some reason I can't seem to find it. Of course, it's going to be on the DVD set, so it's not like I'll never get to see it. :)

CBC has no intention of airing Voyage of the Damned? Well that's just stupid, even for CBC.

So, what about that shot of the Doctor from VotD they've been using in the commercials? Is that just there because they thought it looked cool?
