Has anyone else been here?

Be prepared to get hooked. Page after page of sci-fi concepts, mostly ships, but a lot of landscapes for backgrounds and even characters, etc. All of it high quality.

A lot of this stuff reminds me of the type of sci-fi art that we used to see on book covers in the 70s and early/mid 80s.

Very cool.. i like to look at such things and see imagination run wild.

However it's always disappointing to see the finished commercial products because they are never as bold as the initial designs :(

Sometimes i wish i had the talent to be a concept designer and get paid to let my imagination run riot.

^True...another thing I like about the site is that the art therein is all "free form", that is, each piece is a unique creative "moment" that stands on it's own by and large beholden to neither some other concept or idea.

And there is such a wide range of styles...a lot of modern sci-fi art to me feels very similar stylistically. On the site I've seen stuff from hyper-realistic to 60's psychadelic to stuff that seems almost abstract after a fashion.

The down-side is that it's going to be quite the chore to even try to slog through a significant portion of it.

Dad always says, if he had enough money to have an architect design him a house from scratch, he'd just say to them go nuts and not try to restrict them in any way. Otherwise, what's the point in employing them.

Nice site though, I follow Gavin Rothery's blog to check the same sort of stuff.

Been going to that site for years for inspiration. Have fun slogging all the way back to the beginning! Wish the guy would add some more navigation to the site to make it easier to access the older posts.

Don't miss the sister sites conceptvehicles, conceptrobots and concepttanks.

It's on my bookmarks toolbar and is one of my regular visits. Great site.

Hehe, the site runner must be psychic. He updated the site and now if you scroll to the bottom you can go back to the first blog entries.
