Harry Potter: Movies or TV show

Do you think the Harry Potter series would been better served as a TV show with a seven-year arc or do you think it's fine as a movie series?

To answer your question, absolutely not.

HOWEVER

I think it would have potential if it were set in the "Harry Potter Universe" but followed his son instead and a new threat to their universe. Then you could cast somebody other than Radcliff as the father (Harry Potter) and pull together a fun new mix of people that doesn't corrupt or be limited by the novel/movie canon.

The first few movies didn't do much for me, so I didn't bother to read any of the books until last year, when I decided to see what the hype was all about. I became so engrossed in the universe Rowling created that I finished all the books in just four weeks. When I was done, my first thought was "damn, most of this wasn't even in the films."

If it were up to me, each book would've been a 12-14 episode season on HBO or Showtime.

I'm sure they wouldn't have had any trouble attracting excellent actors. The special effects would've been just fine (ever since Firefly and BSG, I've found FX on TV to be about on par with what I see in the theater). Nothing would feel rushed. They could explore every aspect of each novel.

Best way to go, IMO.

Well I think if there is a series it should be either a prequel like Enterprise, but set during Harry "s parents timeframe, when they were students at Hogwarts or at the tail end of book seven expand the scene into a mini series showing Harry, and his gang as older, but wiser Wizardfolk communicating to Hogwarts by owl to their children as students.
Suddenly there's trouble at Hogwarts, and Harry has to solve another mystery using his office as chief Auror to get to the bottom of whatever danger his kids are in at the school of magic, and wizardry.

How is that for a plot line.

^^ I wouldnt watch something featuring Harry's parents and their friends, from what we saw in the book, most of them (Lilly excepted I suppose) seemed bigger tools than a lot of the people Harry hanged with.
