Harry Potter - Anyone Waiting Until Part II before seeing Part I

I know Harry Potter is the biggest thing going right now, with the excitement of the new movie and stuff, but I decided when I found out they were going to split up the movie that I would wait until Part II comes out before seeing Part 1. Than I can make a mega movie marathon out of it (Seeing all the Harry Potter Films next year, including part one) to get the bigger impact.

For that reason, I've been a bit oblivious towards the opening of Part I, even though I do think if I went to see a movie between now and when Tron comes out it's a good chance I might be the only one, and will get excited next June or July. Besides, I get the feeling they'll bring back Part 1 like a week or two before Part 2 comes out so I can see it then.

Anyone else feel the same way? For those seeing it this weekend, enjoy the movie (It should be terrific based on the trailers) but No Spoilers Please. :)

Absolutely not. I can't wait that long. I'm a little annoyed that I didn't go to the midnight showing last night!

With the no spoilers, I'm assuming you haven't read the book. I have, so it really doesn't make a difference. I know what's going to happen for the most part. That being said, I haven't see the movie, so I'm not sure how well it is set up for people who haven't read the book...

I haven't read the books either, and I have somehow managed to avoid spoilers this whole time. If either of these last two movies are ruined for me, I'm gonna be pissed.

I haven't read the book. I guess I would consider myself a more casual fan, but I have seen all the movies, and am looking forward to how it ends.

I'm in exactly the same boat. And I've managed so far to remain spoiler free about what will happen in the end.

But to answer the question, no i won't wait. I'll be seeing part 1 within the next couple of weeks.

I considered waiting, but I want to see this thing on the big screen. Especially since they're still apparently hell-bent on converting Part 2 to 3-D and for reasons stated at length elsewhere I have no desire to view 3-D movies anymore. (The part of Canada I live in tends to just bring the 3-D versions in if given a choice - there were about 5 films I'd hoped to see this past summer I never saw in the theatre because they never stocked the 2-D versions here.) So there's no guarantee I'll be able to see the final Potter film on the big screen next summer, so I might as well enjoy it now!

What I will be waiting on is the Blu-Ray release later, as I'm assuming there will be separate releases of each film followed by an Ultimate Edition double-dip a few months later, so on that score I plan to wait.

As someone who hated the last movie, which to me felt like a randomized selection of scenes from the book that didn't feel cohesive as a whole, I probably won't be seeing this considering the same director has done this one.

I have honestly felt that way about ALL the Harry Potter movies until I re-watch them, and then suddenly I think they're awesome and make a ton of sense.

A friend of mine hasn't seen any of the Harry Potter movies, and will have a week-long marathon of all of 'em on DVD before the second part comes out.

I've seen 'em all, but never in the theater. I'll be waitin' for the DVD/blu ray for part one, and then the same for part two.

why would I wait... I've listened to the audio book 3 times....
and I didn't wait, I saw it today at imax the 10:30am showing

I really doubt that. If the ending had been less boring than it was, I don't think there'd have been any avoiding it.

You can doubt all you like, it doesn't mean much.

The truth is, other than one trailer I've seen I have no clue what happens and how it happens in the last book/2 movies.
I do assume the good guys win in the end but then they almost always do.
