Happy Ragnarok!

Dammit! that sounds so much cooler than what the Bible predicts!
If we have to go out, let's do it in style.

Oh, and a shame they have no Thor movie ready for this occasion!

I work at a brewery. I feel like this would have been the perfect occasion to make some mead.

Wow, so today is the day where most of the gods die. -Nietzsche would have loved this!

"We are gathered here today to say farewell to God, who is dead..."
The funeral itself was what what Nietzsche was most proud of having accomplished

The frequency in which apocalypses occur seems to be growing, doesn't it? Y2K. The end of the Mayan calendar. Now this.

I was too young and/or not born yet to know, but were there this many apocalypses in the last century?

Any time is the perfect time for mead. Not just Ragnarok. Also, wenches.

I've actually never had mead. I want mead!
It can be difficult to find. Specialty beer and wine stores usually carry some. Although, availability will probably increase soon because the hipsters are starting to get into it.

Out of all things, this is the best thing ever:

We have a lot of beer bars around that stock many, many varieties of things. I'm sure there's some mead around here somewhere.

Not one for the sweet brew myself, I happened to have one bottle of mead'ish beer('ish) -which actually is rather nice :p

Possibly, although bars typically don't have it. There aren't very many meadaries. The huge wine store near me has maybe ten different types, and that's considered a good selection. I'm sure you'll find some, but it may take some effort. Luckily for me, the meadary that makes the bottle I posted a picture of is like ten miles from my house. Of course, you could always make some yourself. It's easy compared to brewing beer, but it needs to age for a year or so before drinking it.

Regular mead is like a lightly-flavored white wine without the grape aftertaste, whereas the stuff with fruit juice or hops is kind of similar to hard cider, just to give you an idea of what to expect.

Now this will help! pfft Ragnarok, a little vodka and metal will cure it all. ;)

Ragnarok needed a better publicist. I said the Mayan Apocalypse was the most disappointing end of the world ever, but I too managed to completely miss this one.

I can't help but think this could have been a great marketing opportunity for Thor 2 blu rays had they decided to release the movie a week earlier. Releasing your Thor movie three days after the end of the world strikes me as bad timing to say the least.
