Happy Independence Day

In response to the many kind wishes we received from our American friends in the "Happy Canada Day" thread, I would just like to take this opportunity to wish those same friends a Happy Fourth of July.

I actually spent a July 4th in Nebraska one year, with my American relatives, as a small child, and I enjoyed the fireworks very much. I hope you all have an equally good time.

Thanks Camelopard.

It's a day to drink too much and then play with explosives. America, fuck yeah!

Aww thanks guys, that's nice of you. Happy 4th, everyone!

It happens to be my husband's birthday as well, so it's always a fun weekend. I'm hoping to go to the Lakefest tonight, where oddly enough, Eve6 is playing. Does anyone else remember them, or were they only popular at my extremely non-diverse, preppy high school?

^No, I remember them, I have one of their CDs even. They were moderately popular over here (except among the kids who liked hip hop/rap of course).

Happy Independence Day to everyone! I am not doing anything special today, probably just going out to see the fireworks later tonight, my little town has some nice ones.

Happy Fourth Of July, everyone.

And thanks to our foreign friends for their well wishes. :)

History Channel is showing their Revolution series today. It's a great show, definitely worth watching if you haven't seen it.

Yeah, Revolution is great. It's great when you don't just take the cliché middle school history lesson and actually learn what they had to do and why they did it. It's definitely impressive.

Happy Independence Day to my neighbours in the south!

Now watch out for aliens. ;)

Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans here. I hope you have a great holiday!

I didn't read the post above, and I was exceedingly confused by this!!

Happy early Independence Day, everyone!

Happy Independence Day!

I even got a celebratory avatar for the occasion. Remember, people...freedom ain't free. And you won't have any if you don't stand up and fight for it.

Happy Independence day!!!

Make sure to shoot off some fireworks-- nothing's more patriotic than blowing shit up!
