June 4, 1982. Oh, and a belated 25th birthday wish to TSFS on June 1, 1984.

Happy 27th birthday TWOK!
I tried to see TWOK on opening day, but at 13 years old, my friend Jim and I had to ride our bikes to the theater and there was a massive rainstorm, so we had to see it the next day.

I was also 13 that day and got one of my older brothers to drive me 40 minutes to a theatre that had a 70mm print and dolby sound. I didn't make the opening of TMP, but from TWOK on I've been to every opening day since!

Happy belated Birthday to the best Star Trek ever!!

*and I miss Ricardo Montalban* ..........

I was fortunate enough to be 20 when "Wrath" was released & it is STILL the best film out of ALL of them plus, it holds my strongest memories. I was between girlfriends at the time & my parents are both "Star Trek" fans so we hopped in the car to see it...and we all loved it! My strongest memory though is that halfway through Spocks' death scene, the film BROKE!! A brand new 70mm Dolby print on its' first run & it BROKE!! Man, I though the crowd (which was filled to capacity) was going to riot! Definitely broke the emotional impact of the scene.

Anyway, I've been reading a lot of behind the scenes "Star Trek" books, including "The Making Of Star Trek II" (found it at a tag sale for a buck, first printing in perfect condition) & recently completed the chapter focusing on it in Shatner's "Star Trek: Movie Memories" & I have yet to find anyone who can verify the following: I am CONVINCED that when I saw TWOK on the night of its' premiere, the main title card read "Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan". There was NO "II" in the title. I remember this vividly because I remember whispering to my parents that there was probably no "II" in the title because the creators probably wanted to forget about the first film.

Is there ANYONE out there who remembers this or, to quote Ozzy, "Am I Going Insane?" (from the Black Sabbath LP, "Sabotage"...best of the Ozzy discs!)
