Happy Birthday, TAS!

Happy Birthday to Star Trek TAS that also premiered this day forty years ago.

Whatever reservations I might have about TAS there is still a lot of cool stuff in it.

The first episode I recall seeing was "Beyond The Farthest Star." Back then at the age of 14 it blew me away. It was everything I hoped to see in new Star Trek. Ot was soon followed by another standout episode, "Yesteryear." And other of episodes still stand out (for me): "Jihad," "Pirates Of Orion," "Slaver Weapon" and "Albatross."

An excellent animated series. :techman: Especially for it's time. I also agree with your list of standout episodes. I still watch the series once or twice a year from my DVD set.

Forgot that TAS premiered on the same date and that it was 40 years ago today.

So forgive the rushed nature of this acknowledgement.

Neat, I didn't realize. I enjoy TAS. Pretty good cartoon, especially for the 70s, especially considering that Filmation was known for its economical practices.

Awesome pic! Kudos to all involved. :techman:

Thanks! Poser/DAZ based art is usually a community based effort unless the person is skilled enough to build, texture and rig all their own material in other programs. So I try to give credit where it is due.

Sincerely,

Bill

I love TAS! It has its share of stinkers and production limitations, but what Trek series doesn't?

Happy 40th!
