Happy Birthday, Big Guy, Godzilla is 65 today (11/3/19)

I just saw on EW.com that today is the 65 anniversary of the Japanese release of the first Godzilla movie. I'm a big fan of the franchise, but I will confess that this mainly due to the Heisei and Millenium movies, I still haven't seen more than bits and pieces of most of the Showa movies. The only Showa movies I've seen all the way through are the original and Ghidora, The Three Headed Monster.
Of the ones I've seen my favorites are the Heisei Godzilla vs Mothra, Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II, and Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo SOS.
The thing I enjoy most about them is that they are just a lot of kinda silly fun.

I'm kinda' surprised I haven't stumbled across any cartoons or Photoshopped images teasing that Godzilla has reached "retirement" age.

It does explain why "Monster Island Buddy" released the first installment of a blockbuster narrative, well as "blockbuster" as a story using kaiju toys with the hands manipulating them in clear sight can be. :techman:

Yeah, I'm a little surprised Entertainment Weekly is the only one talking about the anniversary, I would have expected sites like Io9 or IGN to do something for it.
It could also explain why Amazon has the Criterion Collection over $50 off.

It's not about his "retirement age", but mazel tov anyway

Given what he's implied to be doing here, it could DEFINITELY be age related. ;)

The 11th of March? We missed it then. :)
Always been a big fan of Godzilla. So much so that his new movies is so far my favourite to come out this year.
