Happy 4th of July

To all the American users, Happy 4th of July. Anyone doing anything fun today. Other than going out to watch the Fireworks tonight, I'm not doing anything special. That was last night and tomorrow I leave for vacation for a week.

To everyone else, any special plans this weekend? Hope everyone stays safe and have a good time whatever it is you're doing. :)

Happy Independence Day, everyone that's celebrating! I hope you have a nice day. :)

We're doing a big family BBQ, doing some fireworks at home now that it's legal here again, and then going to watch a big fireworks show down at the Huntington Beach pier.

Youngest son was in the Danville 4th of July parade, with his All-Star Baseball team; taking a break for a couple of hours and then heading to a block party down the road.

No local fireworks anymore, there used to a be good local show we could see from the house but they stopped doing that a couple of years back.

We saw a show at the Earthquakes game last weekend so we had our fix for the year.

Worked 11 hours yesterday. Working about 10 hours today. Working all weekend. Yay!

Isn't this one of the top holidays for Bars? Then again, maybe all holidays are top holidays for Bars, but I don't know how busy they are for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Not really. This is more of a "stay at home and hang out in the backyard" holiday. I was pretty busy last night because people have today off, but tonight probably won't be too crazy since most people have to go back to work tomorrow.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving (also known as Black Wednesday) is, nationwide, the single busiest bar night of the year. Lots of college-age kids are back in town; it's basically a huge high school reunion every year. I always go out on Black Wednesday because I'm back home, and it's always a shit show. I barely even drink because bars are so busy that it takes forever to get waited on.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Days are pretty busy later in the day, too. People finish up with their family stuff and then they want to go out and see their friends.

Happy Independence Day!

We've had thunderstorms EVERY night for about 2 weeks. Already, I hear the thunder, see the trees swaying in the wind. It would not surprise me if fireworks were rained out tonight. Sad, because with Mom in the hospital, this would be the first time in many years for me to see 4th of July fireworks.

No, the top holidays for bars is New Year's Eve and St. Patrick's Day. July 4th is more the top holiday for backyard barbeques, picnics and other outdoorsy stuff. And it's definitely the top holiday for fireworks (and the resulting injuries, fires and so forth). ;)

Yeah, I went to one of the most popular microbreweries in town last 4th of July, and it was empty. I mean no one was there.

Anyway, Happy Independence Day!!

:techman:

Happy Independence Day. I was going to go watch the fireworks but since it has rained the last week, the mosquitoes are big enough to saddle. I don't have the blood to spare since I donated on Wednesday. Just going to have some fried chicken and watch ID4.

Well done for ditching the royal family back then hope we can do the same soon! Happy independents day!

I just finished a prime rib dinner that I made for dinner. It was quiet today. And fireworks are illegal in my city.

I wish they were illegal here too.

Fireworks should be left to the professionals. Not just because of the danger, but it's impossible to sleep when the neighborhood's a fucking war zone all fucking night!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone. :bolian:

And, uh, no hard feelings, English pals. :mallory:

Fireworks are illegal here, too. You wouldn't believe the size of some of the ones they shoot off in my neighborhood! ;)

A friend and I went to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's outdoor concert. Picnic dinner on the lawn, good music, and the best fireworks display I've ever seen.

No kidding, all fireworks are illegal in my county, but now that the city stopped their local display I think everyone did a road trip to Nevada and stocked up for this year.
