I remember watching it on cable with my brother when it was first out on cable.
Regan’s face got all green and my brother literally ran from the living room to his room at the back of the house, screaming like a little girl, with his arms waving over his head like a madman. I would’ve laughed, but then I saw Regan’s head spin around and that was it for me. I was only 12 or something like that; he was 14.
For me the buildup of things going on in that house got me so tense it was almost a relief when Reagan was fully taken over.
Eh???

The tension-building parts scared me more than the possession scenes, probably because my imagination was more engaged.
