Halo TV show announced - Pics, Rumours etc. until released Today was the big Xbox presentation and part of it was the announcement that Halo will get a live action TV show http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/iv9kd0/xbox-one-halo-tv-series-announcement--stream- Not much else is know.. no planned release dates, no other details other than Steven Spielberg will be helming it (i guess as an executive producer.. showrunner will be most likely someone else). Still.. exciting news. Personal prediction wiould be a fall 2014 release.
Can we make this thread the official thread where we would discuss the Rumors, Casting and Pics until Release, FPAlpha?
With a few notable exceptions regarding Sharks, Truck Drivers, Dinosaurs and Archaeologists, I loathe Spielbergs stuff. At least with Halo the chances are he won't be able to shoehorn an annoying blond kid with a bowlcut in... I'd pay good money to see Master Chief blow the crud out of E.T. though...
I reckon this could be a sequel of sorts to Forward Unto Dawn - only now the surviving kids are now serving in the military, and we see much less of the Spartans. Or it could be a live action continuation of Halo: Infinity from Spartan Ops - That I would LOVE to see, a proper space based Sci fi show.
Or it could be set prior to the Covenant War, or it could be set in the early days of the war, or it could be set on one of the HALO's or it.... At the moment we have no information apart from idle speculation. So I doubt we'll see the Master Chief, No doubt we'll have an AI Character.
The Forward Unto Dawn webseries proved you could expand the story with unknown characters (Lasky ended up being a minor character in Spartan Ops and quasi useless in the Campaign) and still feel like you're in that universe. Why not?
OK - I'll give you The Warners and Pinky and The Brain but Slappy Squirrel, Goodfeathers and the rest sucked...
Never seen the appeal of Halo bar blow-aliens-up (have played it). And Spielberg am mixed on. So pass. Though am prepared to be surprised. May be better than game (which wouldn't be hard).
