We've sort of left it up to whoever's putting up the contest that week, but people complain when it's not a poll and the option isn't to vote for three, so most just cave and set it up. That's what I did here; it's not worth the debate, really.

Hey Spiff sorry about the rant earlier, hadn't had much sleep. And plus it was meant to be kinda tongue-in-cheek. Fair do's that doesn't always come across in text.

I hate vote-for-three and generally only vote for one myself.

That's just more of it getting crazy, I'm afraid. When it started, people only posted their entry, as opposed to all the back-and-forth, and the "which of these four avs should I submit?" type stuff. The main advantage to not having a poll was not having to wait on someone to start the voting.

But I'm just grumbling. I've accepted that those days are gone.
