So...Adam Sandler makes dopey comedies. Dopey comedies are a staple going back to, at least, the Three Stooges. Why does everyone single HIM out and, not say, Will Ferrell?

Because more often than not Will Ferrell's comedies are funny?

That's really a matter of taste. But since Sandler's comedies make at least as much as Ferrell's on average...
Though Will Ferrell's actually got a few good movies to his credit, and it's when he ventures outside his comfort zone that he's better, like in Stranger Than Fiction. Adam Sandler has nothing of the sort and he always seems to fall back on the same type of role.
I find them equally unfunny. Though Will Ferrell's actually got a few good movies to his credit, and it's when he ventures outside his comfort zone that he's better, like in Stranger Than Fiction. Adam Sandler has nothing of the sort and he always seems to fall back on the same type of role. He's his own boss when making movies with his production company, so there likely isn't anyone to tell him what to do and what not to do.
