Jeri is a beautiful woman who did not require all the garbage they stuck onto her to make her sexy. Such obvious appeal to hormones is embarrassing for everyone who's had sex at least once in their lives. (You know, the ones with an imagination.)
If Jeri was not receiving adequate blood to her brain that might explain her accceptance of such foolishness. Or maybe she really needed the work. I'm sure she's glad she's past all that!
It was the Borg costume that was a problem, not the catsuit. And it was a design defect.
So, it wasn't the costume that women hate. It was the one that "uglified" her.
The argument is that she was unprofessional for pointing out there was an issue.
The argument was that it was wrong of her to complain--because it's an actor's job to wear what they put her in.
Of course, Kate's complaints about the endless fussing with her hair and the infamous "Star Trek" bra were different. That was a blow struck for females everywhere.

As for Jeri's "foolishness" for accepting the part--one of her long-time peeves is that people consider her unintelligent simply because she looks the way she does. She only auditioned after being assured that Seven wouldn't be a bimbo. She found the corset uncomfortable (and yes, is glad she's past wearing it), but never pitched a hissy about it. And perhaps it's time that women realized that intelligent women come in all shapes, sizes and packaging--including those who look like Seven.
