Are the pair spotted in the trailer for the May 1, 2008 CSI our favorite Mythbusters?
:guffaw:

Sure looks like the real deal or very good "look-alikes" filling a part. I've seen the trailer 3 times now and it does look like our favorite MythBusters...

If you could possibly be more cryptic about what you're talking about, I don't know how.

In other words ... what are you talking about? What show? What guest appearance?

Maybe Jamie finally snaps and kills Adam in some horribly gruesome way.

It's always the quiet ones, you know.:vulcan:

OK, to clarify. In the teaser trailer for tonights episode of CSI (CBS, 9:00PM EDST, 05/01/08) there is a quick shot of one of the CSI labs and the two people pictured look a hell of a lot like our favorite Mythbusters Adam and Jamie. The pair look up at the camara and in unison give the camara the big thumbs-up. That's the extent of their appearance in the clip. It sure looks like Adam and Jamie .... What the hell are they doing in a CSI lab in Las Vegas? Is it really Adam & Jamie or some "lookalikes" vamping on their Mythbuster persona's... ?

I hope this helps...

I get why you might not know what trailer he's talking about but it's pretty plain he's talking about CSI.

It was definitely Adam and Jamie. They appeared during a scene where the CSI people were conducting a rather Mythbusters-style test involving a ballistics-gel dummy, specifically to see if a taser could ignite a kind of pepper spray with a chemical base. They were watching from the other side of the glass and were taking notes, but had no lines (unless you count the thumbs-up gesture as sign language).

Now I'm wondering if there will be an upcoming Mythbusters episode where they test whether tasers can start fires.

It's kind of weird they wouldn't get any lines, the banter between them is one of the best things about Mythbusters.

Yup, definately them:

After it was all over, I kind of had to wonder what the point was. Their presence was never explained. It was almost like one of those "4th wall" jokes they do on Boston Legal.

I'm not a CSI fan, but I watched this episode just because of the Mythbusters in the preview.

Do they normally use ballistics gel dummies? If not, I'd guess that they got M5 to make the dummies for them and gave Adam and Jamie a small cameo as a thanks.

I'm sure that forensic investigators were using ballistics gel human analogues long, long before the Mythbusters started using it. Why do you think it's called ballistics gel?

This thread is about a TV show called CSI and a brief cameo on said program by the hosts of another TV show called Mythbusters. That's what I was referring to. Real forensic investigation hasn't been a topic in this thread until you mentioned it, so I have no idea how you thought I was talking about that.

Like I said, I'm not a regular fan (of the TV show called CSI), so I could be mistaken. I just thought that if they (the TV show called CSI) didn't use the stuff much then they (the TV show called CSI) might work with someone that does. Someone like the hosts of the TV show called Mythbusters.

^^Given that CSI has always built its stories upon cutting-edge forensic technology rather than just making stuff up out of thin air, I assumed it went without saying that if real forensic scientists used something routinely, it would probably be used routinely on CSI as well.

Yes, they do use those gel dummies on CSI. Very recently in fact. They used it to see if a piece of tire could decapitate a human (yes.)
