Guest actors who did a fantastic job

Zonker

Commander
Red Shirt
Personally I thought Hallie Todd did an amazing job as Lal. She was able to perfectly convey an incomplete android learning to function correctly and eventually surpassing her programming.

Harris Yulin also did an incredible job as Marritza. His ability to switch between villainous scenery chewing and quiet moments of obvious guilt and self loathing sold the role and cemented his place in Trek history.

Some memorable ones, I thought, were Ronny Cox as Capt. Jellico, Kevin Conway as Kahless, and James Sloyan as Alidar Jarok.

On a sidenote, I once asked Michael Dorn this question at a convention. He said Jon Colicos (though since Kor was recurring, I'm not sure that counts in this thread) and John Anderson (Kevin Uxbridge in "The Survivors").

Always liked Christopher MacDonald's sweet performance as Castillo.A good actor too often typecast as a villainous smoothie.

Bob Gunton as the jovial but inwardly tortured Maxwell. Tony Todd is one cool cat as Kurn. In fact, he's probably the guest star that I like the most. A very honourable mention goes to the late Andreas Katsulas who played the the perfect Romulan Tomalak.

Sloyan has a great style playing numerous characters. I'm actually surprised he hasn't had more visible acting career.

I think Marley McClean did a good job with the limited lines they gave her as a child actress and she was certainly more interesting as Mrzoti than the character of Icheb. I was sorry to see her written out before her character could be better developed.

Tony Todd as Kurn, Andreas Katsulas as Tomalak. I also enjoyed Diana Muldaur's appearances on TOS even though I can't stand Dr. Pulaski.

A lot of my faves have been said already, but (and not counting ones who recurred more than four or five times) ...

Harris Yullin, Bob Gunton, Ronny Cox, David Warner, Fionnula Flanagan, Tony Todd, Mark Lenard, Shannon Fill, John Colicos, Jame Sloyan, Paul Dooley, Helene Udy, Richard Poe, Natalija Nogulich, Mary Kay Adams, Carolyn Seymour, Daniel Davis, Ray Walston, Paul Winfield, Jean Simmons, Susan Gibney, Roger Carmel, Ricardo Montalban...I should stop there I think. That'll do for now. ;)

Tony Todd was wonderful as both Kurn and Jake Sisko. James Sloyan is another favourite, playing Admiral Jarok, Dr. Mora Pol, Jetrel, and K'Mtar (or future Alexander).

Haris Yulin, Fionnula Flanagan, Carolyn Seymour, Mark Lenard, Paul Winfield, David Warner. I can't remember them all but Star Trek has been lucky over the years with guest stars.

^ I heard Martin Sheen was up for the role of Sloan before they signed Sadler. Wonder how THAT would have turned out...

Same goes for Edward James Olmos as Kruge in ST III. Can you see THAT?

William Sadler as Luther Sloan and Kurtwood Smith as Annorax really impressed me.

Would Martha Hackett as Seska be considered as a guest star?
