"Green Hornet" villain news

It's being reported that the villain in the upcoming Green Hornet film starring Seth Rogen, the villain, previously meant to be played by Nicolas Cage, will now be played by Inglourious Basterds breakout actor Christoph Waltz (Colonel Hans Landa).

Waltz was easily the biggest factor in that movie's success, and it must be thrilling for a guy who's been in the acting business for 30+ years (in mostly non-English cinema; looking over his IMDB entry it's virtually all German) to find himself now in demand.

It's an upgrade for Green Hornet but it's almost certainly not for Christoph Waltz.

You know, I was fearing after Inglourious Basterds that Waltz was going to be the go-to guy for villains. While I'm absolutely psyched for this, I just hope Waltz doesn't get typecast. I'd like to see him in some different type of roles.
