Does anyone else remember or like this show from 1999-2000? Unfortunately, it ran only 44 episodes. But MAN it was an amazing show! In my opinion, Greed was the best game show to ever grace the television airwaves!
I mean, a lot of people are saying Greed was looked at as rip-off of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, hence its insultingly-short run, but Greed was and always will be so much better than Millionaire. The suspense, the cut-throat "all-or-nothing" method of gameplay, the creepy and scary music and cues, the SET, and the overall format was so much better than Millionaire's format. Besides, would you rather take 14 questions to $1 million or 8 questions to $2 million? Exactly.
Speaking of the $2 million, it's also a shame no one ever won the top prize, and the one brave contestant that did make it to the $2 million question lost (it was an insanely-stupid question about odors). Maybe if it would've lasted longer somebody probably would've won the top prize.
My favorite episodes were the November 11, 1999 episode, and also the April 28, 2000, which was the first episode of Super Greed, when the top prize was boosted to $4 million! That $2 milllion question about events before MTV in the Super Greed premiere was freakin' epic!
Seriously though, all these shows and movies that are being remade nowadays, Greed should seriously be one of those shows being revived. Shoot, i would've loved to have been a contestant on Greed myself, except i was 9 years old when this was originally running on Fox. But at this point, i would be happy with seeing all the 44 episodes of the show running on TV again. But Greed, in my opinion, should've ran at least one more season, and had at least 90-something overall episodes; 44 episodes doesn't do it justice.
