You would think this would be the first thing to hit, but I can't find it. Anyone have an update on the status of this book on the kindle?
The ebook of Fearful Symmetry was over a month late; I have no reason to expect Greater than the Sum to be any less late than FS was (and every reason to suspect it will be, given S&S's mishandling of the ebooks over the last two-ish years).
^ I have no frapping clue. I didn't have a clue when there was an original eBook line, and I don't even have that now....
According to the S&S website, the pBook edition isn't even available even though it's sitting here on my desk. If they cannot even get that right, don't think the eBook will be available any time soon. They still don't think the pBook is available.
I guess buying the paper version won't be bad. I can't wait any longer to see what happens after PD's BD mess.
No, they just think that they're out of stock. (Note the lack of a "pre-order" button that other forthcoming titles have, and that previously it did have an "order now" button like MU2 does.)
Wow, I'm glad to see that the book is selling so well. So does that mean the entire first printing has sold out, or just the ones at S&S's online store?
Since we don't know how many books were printed in this printing, the fact that it is sold out doesn't really give any indication how it is selling other than it took about a month to sell what the people at Pocket thought would be a reasonable quantity of books for a first printing of Greater than the Sum. I would assume that means that Pocket has no books left in their warehouses.
Yeah, but it still must have sold fairly well for the entire first printing to have sold out in just a month. I just looked and it's even the number one Trek book on Amazon.
It means that warehouse inventory was quickly and completely depleted, and that a rush second printing is necessary to meet the exceptionally high reorder activity. I can't answer that with any greater specificity than "soon." It isn't an aspect of the publishing process over which I have any influence.
Not likely. First I'd have to sell enough copies to pay off my advance, and that can take many years, if it happens at all.
