Great episodes with no major guests.

There are a few episodes with only very minor or no 'guests'----do you consider any of them 'great'?

I hope no-one says Immunity Syndrome because it's not great (IMO)

I love Amok Time. Even though there are some guests, I don't think any were names back in the 60s, and the whole story really only focuses on our characters.

Naked Time. Any non-regulars were little more than glorified extras.

I always like "The Galileo 7", if only for the new "prop" showcased. The premise of story though, never made any sense.
In "The Immunity Syndrome", Spock in a shuttlecraft full of equipment was all that was needed to gather data on a new life form.
But in 7, it takes the First Officer, the Senior Medical Officer, The Chief Engineer, and 4 junior enlistees, to gather data on a "quasar-like phenomena???

Arena. Only two "guest stars" -- the Metron, and the guy in the Gorn costume. -- RR

Actually there were more - the guy who played the Cestus survivor and those who played the Enterprise security men.

D'oh! I forgot! But do they qualify as "major" guests, or minor? I assumed major guest stars were major characters, sometimes played by well-known guest actors, like Jane Wyatt as Amanda in Journey to Babel, or William Windom as Decker in The Doomsday Machine.

Well, here's another one: The Changeling. I just remember a few minor guest stars: four red shirts and a tech Kirk leaves Nomad with.

Red Ranger

Were any of the guests really big names back then, some made it bigger later. Joan Collins was one (The City on the Edge of Forever), Kim Darby (Miri) was tipped to become a big star but only made one big movie later (True Grit with John Wayne). But most of them stayed mostly as supporting role actor/resses. I don't many of the amin crew ever really made it big apart from Shattner and Nimoy, Kelly was already reasonably well known at that time and had been in some decent films.

That's interesting. before I even clicked on this link I thought of the Immunity Syndrome and then started wondering if it was a great episode or not. I think this deserves a thread of its own.
