I have to admit to a little bit of a fetish for Starship Bridge Images. From the lovely sketches being put over at John Eaves new site to some of the really gorgeous hi-res renders that we get here.

I was wondering if anyone had any favourites, and if theyd like to post them up here? They make fantastic wallpapers

Okay so, I found a phenominal amount of bridge porn last night hidden away on a folder on my PC. There's shots from federation, Klingon and Romulan bridges so I'll upload the images tonight and do some slideshows here. bring your popcorn and your tissues and handlube....okay sorry crossed the line there with the whole bridge-Pr0n thing but seriously, it should be very pretty.

Can't wait for the first ST11 stuff to start coming out, that bridge looks like its going to be *very* hard to recreate but then there are some damn decent modellers out there.

Of course, Sean taught me the ropes back in the day and if you know where to look every single image of his is a whole boatload of tutorials ready to be discovered.
Heck, even to this day I still have tons of his work at hand in my reference folder.

Tell you what, either:

A: come back to me when you're living in the 23rd century and there arent a lot of lens flares around, or

B: come back to me again when you're producing/directing/creating a new vision for star trek that similarly captures peoples imaginations and for the first time since the early 80's captures the imaginations and desires of trek and non-trek fans alike!

Seriously though, okay there are a few lens flares in the film and JJ himself has stated a case of overkill in one scene but.....can we not just accept that thats the look of the film and go with it. I consider it to be commensurate with shaky-cam or Robert Wise' split-focus shots or Kubricks overheads in The Shining or Picassos cubist phase. Its art. Its not supposed to look real.

^ If we just get right down to it, the bridge set for this film was designed to create lens flares. That is the reason all those stupid light are located where they are on the walls of the set itself! Lens flares should happen naturally not on purpose. What we have here is over kill and basically bad photography, and it is by design! So I do not like the look of the bridge set, nor do I like the Uglyprise. It is ridiclous looking! Having said all that, I think that this film will be a big hit and fun to watch! I just don't like the art direction!

I always thought any TNG-era ("Titan"-era) Oberth refit should have the "Defiant" style bridge by fadmvulcan from "DS9: Dogs Of War".

Hi lennier1 your work is outstanding! I especially love the blue TOS bridge that sooo looks better, even half finished, than the complete Apple ibridge in the new movie.

It’s a shame that we can’t see it completed, it would have been cool.
