Last Thursday the power died at my house and was out for a couple hours. When it came back on my router coincidently was no longer working so my mom ordered a new one- a 2wire home portal from AT & T. So, we set up the new router and now all my computers can access the DSL internet again(well... except now we can't print to all our printers, but that is another prob).
Now my DVR can no longer connect to TiVo service. I tried typing in the new network password, but that didn't work. So, I tried chatting on-line with a TiVo rep. We were both confused at first, but then he looked at my account info and said that TiVo doesn't support my Netgear adapter so he can't help me. This was news to me as 1) this is the same adapter I have used since 2005 and I have talked to the TiVo peeps for technical support many times before and 2) I am pretty sure that I bought this adapter from TiVo. So what do I do now? I talked to AT&T via online chat and they wouldn't help me either... they gave me this phone number where I would have to pay for tech support.
FYI... I have an old school TiVo from 2005. It is a Series 2 DVR so it only records one station at a time. I don't have HD and the DVR works almost as well since the day I got it. I don't want to invest in a new DVR as starting next September I will be out of the country for a whole year or more (so it is kinda a waste of money to invest in a new DVR).
Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
