that sounds about right, hell you guys even let Canadians teams play in your sports leagues. This amuses me, as my hometown is Peterborough, Ontario, which would be about the dullest place in the world for a cop show.

Sounds familiar. To me they´ll always be Nessuno and Piedone because I never got into ther classic western movies but I know what you mean.
As for the Don Camillo comparison, he´s already been there and after the death of Hill´s son it´s understandable that he underwent a major change.
I still hope there´s some truth to the rumor about Pedersoli (*1929) and Girotti (*1939) teaming up again for a more serious movie but time seems to be running out.
