Going crazy here. Can someone PLEASE help with a VLC problem I have?

Hi all,

I'm trying to convert a .m2ts file (HD video) into a .mov or .mp4 at a resolution of 480 pixels wide.

I'm just amazed at how complicated this process seems to be. I've tried following the instructions I've found online, but it just won't work. I end up with either a ".ps" file (no idea what that is) and if I manually change the output so that it saves it as a ".mov" then when I try and open the file I get a

"An invalid sample description was found in the movie"

I'm picking mov or mp4 as encapulation, so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Can anyone please help?

Many thanks

Try SUPER from erightsoft... free and converts any video type to any other.

It does support those file formats although I've never personally worked with an m2ts file.

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

The erightsoft site can be a bit of a pain if you have any popup blocks,
heres a direct link to the download (read the description on the erightsoft site first):
