I'm starting to wonder if the Madonna episode was getting too hyped. I didn't even know they were going to do one until maybe two weeks ago, and then last week it seemed like it was one of the most hyped things of the season. Maybe I'm glad I didn't get into it to really increase my expectations because right now, it's just like any other Glee episode. I expect it to be pretty good, will be glad if it's great.

Anyway, because of the Sharks game I have it all set to record. Hope there is less about relationships this week and more about the club itself with maybe everyone other than Rachael and Finn getting more to do.

Glee did Madonna Proud. I happen to really like Madonna, at least most of her stuff from the Music Album back (Even though that 4 minute song was pretty good), and because I like Glee as well, this was a very good episode. Loved the music, loved how they incorporated the Vogue video into the show (See, Ron Moore, that's editing), since I thought the video was a deleted scene based on last week but it was still there. Loved the theme of empowerment and using Madonna's music to send that message across, even though it might have been a tad bit heavy handed.

I didn't give this episode an excellent because I'm starting to have a few concerns about where this series is going. I really watched it at first for the music (Might even download the Power Of Madonna EP but I just wonder if it's going to be included on Glee: Season 1 - Volume 3) but I really want to care for the characters and the story. Some of these concerns are making it hard to do that:

1) Will and Emma (And this week, no spoiler code, since I'm going under the assumption based on this thread that I'm the only one watching) - It seemed like this whole thing was a rehash of last week. Emma is not very confident, and Will is really coming across as a dirtbag. I mean the stuff Will was pointing out to Emma in regards to special programs, I was thinking to my self, "Put your money where your mouth is." Meaning, didn't Will have these very same issues last week? Also, Will is finalizing a divorce and is still going after her. It hasn't been that long since the divorce has it? Like I said, Will is coming off as a bit of a dirtbag

2) Jesse and the Love Triangle of Doom - Ok, maybe I stole the Love triangle bit from New BSG, but it's showing up here as a major plot point and it's already annoying. Yeah so the guy who plays Jesse is Cute, and he's pretty much a mole (Hopefully that's the case and he really didn't join New Directions just for shits and giggles and to get Rachael), but this whole plot point is just annoying.

3) Tina? - Was she even in the group for Like a Prayer? I didn't see her and that's not good. I went back and listened to her rendition of True Colors, and please, get her involved more. She has a good voice and deserves more solos.

At least Kurt and Mercades might get more time by joining the Cherrios (So random, but I'll see where it goes). Hopefully they can get more solos in Glee too, same with Artie.

Loved everything with Sue Selvestor. Loved the hair jokes, and her scene with Emma was funny.

Overall, good episode, hopefully it get's better in terms of plot. The music is really what is holding the show together the last two weeks.

The plot-lines have always been insane and annoying (though, occasionally funny in their outlandishness). The songs have always been the main audience draw (imo).

That's true, but one of the things I liked about the first half was the sense of rejects/losers/underdogs becoming more than who they were. Not only we got that with the overall Glee club, but with Kurt coming out to his father was one of those great moments where the music did not triumph the show. Perhaps that's more theme than plot, but the music doesn't need to be the only draw.

You're right. There really hasn't been much of a sense of glee lately (which I admit was a draw early on).

Regarding Will Schuester, my wife used the term "second-hand embarassment" for most of the time he was on the screen last night...especially when he tries to get "funky". :)

And I'm a little surprised they had Finn do the deed with Santana...I thought they'd pull back like they did with the other two couples. I know that there is a lot of relationship drama right now, but I really hope that they lighten up a little bit more soon. The show is starting to get a bit heavy at times...

And Will needs that therapy WAY more than Emma does...and now we get April Rhodes back next week to pile on even more tension...

I think some of what we are seeing in these new episodes is the result of them being tacked on to what was essentially a complete 13 episode season. The back 9 wasn't originally planned for so we're getting a little reset button-age and some wheel-spinning. Hopefully they'll get past it. One of the things In like about Glee is that it generally doesn't maintain the status quo but rather keeps things changing.

Here's a question: Where is Quinn living now? Surely not with Finn?

And an observation: Will is really freaking creepy when he's trying to be romantic. He should just stop.

I'm really excited that this episode is tonight!

Why? Cause now I won't have to watch commercial after commercial of them advertising this episode. Is this really the episode everyone has been waiting for? Really?

I was indifferent about Glee before but now I hate it.

Edit: oh, looks like it was last night. Shows how much attention I paid to the hundred commercials they showed.

They ignore all plot points and just pull things out of their ass. If it wasn't for the coach most people wouldn't be watching.

And they are going to do another Madonna episode next year.

Well, she has a lot of songs to work from. Still, not really looking forward to another Madonna episode when there are so many other artists to choose from.

I only watched about the last 40 minutes.

I did not think the music/singing production itself was as good as in the past.

The video re-creation for Vogue was very well done itself.
