Gina Carano Says Carl Weathers Called Her After ‘Mandalorian’ Firing: “Didn’t Want Me To Give Up”

Her character was one of the many highlights of season 1 The Mandalorian. It was gutting when the performer rendered the character unusable.
On the plus side at least she didn't use the tragic passing of a beloved person as an excuse to talk about how she was in the right the whole time and that said person who is now no longer able to speak for himself was totally on her side too. Such a class act!
These were literally my first two thoughts upon seeing this thread.

Ninja'd × 2.

Sometimes they forget, that actors only read the lines that other people have wrote, and start thinking that they can push their own political ideas on to their fans. It's why my actors fandom always ends at the film/series credits roll .
I tend to agree.

Actors are not idols or role models to me. They do a job and that's it.

Business.

I assume they're just gonna move on from his character instead of recasting the part.
Probably. And really, where Karga was left off at the end of S3 is a fitting farewell to the character, IMO.

The only unknown factor is we know S4 has been written and presumably writing had begun on The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Granted, it's possible Karga wasn't planned to be brought back in either, in which case, it's a non-issue. Though if he were, I imagine re-writes are now in order.

"Senator Karga has taken up residence on Coruscant where he feels he can better serve the needs of his people."

Moving on...

I think Cara Dune is going to be a fascinating and unique case in Star Wars history. A character that will never be expanded upon in other media. Never to appear in animation or novels or have any new stories told about her in the comics. The details of her backstory forever untold. That's almost unheard of in the galaxy far far away.

Wasn't there a Mandalorian novel that was announced but then cancelled without explanation? Maybe that's why it was cancelled, it was going to give us Cara Dune's backstory, but once they decided to distance themselves from Gina Carano they decided not to release it.

There was. No details were ever released about it, so your theory is a distinct possibility.
