Ghostbusters toys on the way!

Mattel's "Ghostbusters" collectible line debuts with 12-inch figures in June 2009, and will be available exclusively at MattyCollector.com. Each figure will feature window box packaging and include authentic Ghostbuster equipment unique to each character. For the first time, Mattel's line will include talent likeness of Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore.

"Ghostbusters" collectors can also look forward to 6-inch figures, with one debuting at San Diego Comic Con in July 2009. Sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios, the team currently working on Mattel's popular DC Universe(TM) Classics and Masters of the Universe(R) Classics collectible lines, the 6-inch line will come complete with authentic "Ghostbusters" equipment and ghost.

Mattel will also create characters and ghosts from the classic animated series, "The Real Ghostbusters," to go along with the classic "Ghostbusters" film.

Finally! I've been eagerly awaiting figures of the movie GBs since NECA announced they got the license (which they apparently no longer have). It's also cool to hear that they will be making RGB toys too.

Oh man, I think I'm gonna need those 6" figures. The Horsemen make incredible looking figures so I trust they'll look great. Peter with Slimer would SO get my money in a heartbeat.

Mattel? Um....I'll wait for pics. Then again, the article mentions licensing partners. Maybe, just maybe Hot Toys will be able to pick up the license too, like they did with Dark Knight. Oh my god, Hot Toys Ghostbusters would be the death of my wallet.

PLEASE correct me if I am wrong, but I thought I read a TOYFARE article somewhere that said the reason there where never any toys was because Bill Murry refuesed to give the toy companies licence approvel for his likeness? They said Murry was a bit FREAKED out about the idea that someone would be PLAYING with him or something. I gue$$ he CHANGED hi$ mind.

Eh Winston deserves the shaft. Never really thought he was anything special. Always screamed 'Token Black guy'. Although I did love his "Shit that will turn you WHITE" line.
