Get Smart

I just saw the new Get Smart at my local dollar theatre and I thought it was really good! I thought the film could of done away with Dwayne Johnson, I'm not a big fan of The Rock. Besides, his acting sucked too in this film... did he even go to school for that or did he get the career just because he was a wrestler? But everyone else in the film was utterly fantastic! Steve Carell and Anne Hatheway as Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 were brilliant. I was shocked to see that Terence Stamp was in the film, everytime I saw him I kept picturing "Zod" :) For those who have seen this, did anyone notice that Stamp had a remarkable resemblence to Malcom Mcdowell in the movie? I actually didn't know he was that old now. Anyways, and I'm sure this film has already been discussed here, but I give it five stars :) It was worth my $1.50 to see it! :)

I thought this was the second most funniest comedy of the summer (first being Tropic Thunder.)

Well done, Carrell made a GREAT Max Smart as I knew he would and there were a lot of nice little nods to the series/use of the classic lines and exchanges.

I don't think it quite hit it but it sure came close. Hope a franchise is born of this as I'd love to see what else they can do.

And you gotta love Anne Hathaway.

I also liked "The Rock" thought he played his role well.

One Word: Swordfish!!!

I crack up every time I see that part. It's on youtube if anyone is interested. The scene is about a minute or so in length, and it is hilarious!

Stamp is five years older than McDowell, actually.
