It has to be said, that the costuming on Discovery is some of the best any Star Trek series has ever got. Gersha Phillips is doing an extraordinary job. Every piece of her work is so intricate and full of details to discover. They are blessed to have her work on the show.

She's fantastic! I got to see some of the costumes in person at the CBS exhibit during San Diego Comic-Con International 2017. The details were exquisite. Got my Disco Ops badge there, too...

IMHO, technical execution doesn't count for much if the design chocies aren't good.

They went last season with an Tudor/Late Medieval look to some of the Klingon designs, and in that time period subtlety was not a thing, taste in the modern aesthetic sense had not been invented. I had my complaints about the Klingons last season but costuming wasn't part of it.

I love that they spent the time to give the Klingons individual costumes that are unique to that Klingon instead of some generic look they all share. They actually feel like an alien species composed of unique beings with their own histories instead of the one note bad guys from a sci-fi show.
